Why do finger nail grow faster than toe nail?

I don't know where I first hear this, but from personal experience I know it's true.Why do finger nail grow faster than toe nail?
because your hands are more moving then your toes =this stimulates the growth of the nail
it might just be you one-sidedly, like everyone's nail are different, because it's the opposite for me.
I agree next to the above I think its the stimulation and something roughly them getting more of the protein. Like me my hand nail are long and they grow grow grow which I love lol ...hate when they break but my toe nail they grow ...I cut them.a month or so later they stipulation cutting again they one and only grow like this much....lol naw my paw nail is approaching this long ........ (the pinky anyways) lol Everyone always think my nails are phoney lol.
I think they probably grow at in the region of the same rate for any one personality. It may seem that fingernails grow faster because on average fingernails are smaller and thinner than toe nail so get longer faster even though the volume of staple is the same.
