Why do you quick past recieving an anaesthetic?

Why do you fast earlier recieving an anaesthetic? Why do you quick past recieving an anaesthetic?
To reduce the occasion of aspirating.
Some people throw up. They could inhale it (as the previous poster said) and impairment their lungs.
Some people take sick from anesthesia, even violently sick. So if your contained by surgery and you get sick nearby is nothing for you to puke up. They also stick a tube down your throat to back you breath so if you did puke it would probably push the tube up and out of your throat. Puking+tube=bad. Also if your on an empty stomach and you do obtain sick it won't be as bad afterwards. When ever I own surgery they always bring me a heat gingerale and crackers even though I never get sick. It freshly helps and its moral to have something to put away when you havn't eaten for 12+ hours!
If you own food in your stomach formerly surgery, you may throw up {Aspirate} because of the anesthesia, in the middle of surgery and that's what they are trying to avoid.
if your stomach is not relinquish when you have an anesthetic, if you vomit you may aspirate and die
