Why can't you rouse up sleepwalkers? what does it do?

I heard if u see a sleep person on foot your not supposed to wake them up.Why can't you rouse up sleepwalkers? what does it do?
No your not you thoughtfully guide them back to bed, as the shock of human being woken up whilst slepp walking can cause a heart attack

Scares the crap out of them, and messes up their reality. But I've be woken from sleepwalking. It didn't do anything bad.
It's tramatic to them- IE: They will any collapse or freak out.
It can make them uncontrolled, apparently, as they are sub-conscious at the time and won't necessarily understand what is occurring

You aren't designed to wake them because they are dreaming and on wake they become very disorientated and can also become terrifically upset.
I am sure there is more to it than that but I can't remember anymore.
